In the podcast he expresses delight that David Cameron is distancing himself from the proposal for parking charges on out of town stores. In the podcast you can hear Roger comment, "Much of the stuff in the Gummer Goldsmith proposals is absolute anti Conservative nonsense….." "We really have to make up our mind as Conservatives whether we're actually supply side tax cutters or whether we're socio environmental tinkerers and interventionists...." We in the Labour Party as so grateful to the East Midlands Conservatives for selecting Roger to be at the top of their Euro list again. We could not have a better candidate from our point of view.

I have worked with many Tories over the years over many issues, with great pleasure. However, and with due respect, Roger brings your great party in to disreputewith his continuous attacks on your attempts to present green policies

Eric, with due respect to steal the phrase you use I wonder why? Are you expecting another result along the same lines as the Labour party had in the last Euros?

My personal view is that Roger's views are perfectly compatible with policies to protect the environment. Why don't we let the electorate decide?
