Gala Dinner

Tagged:  •

Last night I was lucky enough to be invited to the Gala Dinner, and was on a front row table to listen to Tony Hadley (of Spandau Ballet fame). Plenty of good food and wine - and as with every Tory event Ive ever been to, quite alot of fundraising done too!

My wife wasn't pleased that she didn't get to go - but I think that was more than remedied by having her pic taken with Tony earlier in the day!

Another Pass Debacle on the Way?

It would seem that NO media passes have been posted. An email from Fingerprint Events, the organisers, said:

There is no problem; your pass was printed on the 14th of September and will be ready for collection when you arrive at the conference. Please remind your colleagues that ALL media passes need to be collected in Blackpool; there is a separate pick up point in the late accreditation office

So, be prepared for queues if you're going to be there with a media pass. I don't know what the situation is for members, so if anybody could post an update please do.

Another reason not to vote Lib Dem

Photo of Ming Campbell Looking Rather Silly Across the country we all know that is some places the Lib Dems like to portray themselves as a left wing alternative to Labour, and in a neighbouring seat as a moderate alternative to the Conservatives. To those of us who have been concerned about immigration and its effects on the UK, perhaps here is a reason why you should never vote Lib Dem.

The key word is not immigration in this story but ILLEGAL! My father emigrated. He did it legally. he jumped through many loopholes to do so. He didn't just turn up in a country, work, take advantage of everything they had to offer in the hope that at some point he would be offered an amnesty. Are the Lib Dems really saying that some illegal immigration is justified? It certainly looks like it!
